Ride 4 a Reason -24 hour bike ride

The Family, Infant, and Preschool Program (FIPP - a division of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center) would like to thank you for participating in the inaugural Ride 4 a Reason, 24 hour bike ride.

Ride 4 a Reason hit the pavement on May 17-18, 2008 at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, North Carolina.

The first annual Ride 4 a Reason was a huge success. We were blessed with beautiful weather, great volunteers, and excited participants. Chaplain Johnny Phillips gave a prayer for safety during the ride as well as blessed the families FIPP serves and the then the riders were off. Sixty riders in all hit the pavement throughout the 24-hours. Many riders began the day thinking they would only log a couple of miles and in the end amazed themselves with their incredible abilities. Rick Fox, a rider from Morganton logged 206 miles within the 24 hours while many others put in over 150 miles before racking up their bikes. Jim Moore from Ohio and the oldest rider in the group rode 100 miles. Youngsters enjoyed the children’s loop with many riding off and on all day.

Music, spin art t-shirts, and great food made for a fantastic family experience, one you won’t want to miss next year. All proceeds raised will support programs for infants, toddlers and their families who use FIPP services.
